Courses and camps
To be safer off-piste, we recommend professional support from guides or learn how to handle equipment and snow conditions in avalanche courses or freeride camps.
Important tips for freeriding
Freeride checkpoints are located in the entire snow-sport region and inform about the current avalanche situation and risk. Recent weather, snow, and avalanche information can be retrieved by phone 187 or via SLF.
Please study the avalanche bulletins of the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF before every freeride tour. These are updated and published twice a day (8.00 a.m. and 17.00 p.m.).
The area outside the marked and groomed slopes is considered a free snow sports terrain. It is neither marked nor secured against alpine dangers. Arosa Bergbahnen AG and Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG disclaim any liability when leaving the marked and groomed slopes.
Rest. Protection. Fairness.
Nature is a habitat for many animal and plant species. The animals have adapted to the harsh conditions of winter over a long period of time. In this hard and dangerous time for them, they fight for survival every day. They have to find enough food and move very little. They must be able to use their energy reserves as sparingly as possible.
Rest - helps wild animals save valuable energy and is the most important asset in winter.
Protection - enable humans and wildlife to live together in nature.
Be fair to nature - respect the wildlife rest areas.
