Arosa ClassicCar 2020 is taking place - under protective measures
The organising committee of the Arosa ClassicCar is setting an example in the 2020 racing calendar and is pleased to be able to hold the event from 3rd to 6th September with sensible protective measures.
The decision of the Federal Council to extend the ban on events with more than 1000 persons by one month has presented the OC of the Arosa ClassicCar with a challenge. The core OC of the Arosa ClassicCar has worked out solutions and is pleased that, after consultation with the municipal and cantonal authorities, the legendary ClassicCar event can be held with the submitted protection concept. With this clear, stringent and good protection concept, a piece of new normality can be lived in the racing calendar. For once, this normality will deviate from the usual unique racing atmosphere of previous years, but the OC around OC President Markus Markwalder is looking forward in particular to roaring engines and racing feeling in the Schanfigg in 2020.
Protective measures
The OC of the Arosa ClassicCar has extended the existing safety and protection concept by some points from the recommendations of the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH. For example, the race in 2020 will be held as an event with less than 1000 people. The event participants include drivers, the drivers' escorts, the OC, sponsors, helpers and guests close to the event. Further spectators are not allowed in the event area (which includes the start and finish area, event hall and paddock). Infrastructure and buildings for the public will be waived, so that no congested areas can arise. Guests in Arosa are welcome to enjoy the race atmosphere at the track between Langwies and Arosa, while adhering to the usual BAG recommendations. A leisurely walk along the route and in the beautiful natural surroundings is worthwhile everywhere. Unfortunately, the popular village parade on Thursday, September 3, 2020 will not be held. More detailed information will follow continuously on the website of the event.
Arosa classics look forward to classics fans
Guests are also welcome in Arosa during the Arosa ClassicCar. The safety measures will be made clearly visible in Arosa. On the first weekend in September, Arosa has many other classic cars to offer in addition to the classic cars: The Arosa bear country, the generous all-inclusive offer, many great hiking and biking routes and beautiful nature. The event offers an excellent opportunity to explore the area between Langwies and Arosa along the various hiking and biking routes and to be part of the 76 curves in a modified form. The hosts at Schanfigg are already looking forward to the ClassicCar and Arosa fans.
